New Orleans: Part Un
New Orleans has always been a place high up on my travel list not only for its rich history and incredible food scene, but also for the extensive antique shops and distinctive historical architecture. My husband, puppy, and I have had the pleasure of staying in this truly charming city for almost a week now and today we head back to New York. I feel such an attachment to the people here and am quite sad to leave. However, I am excited to share with you some of the places that brought me the most joy. I hope this post will urge you to visit. (Or plan a return trip back!)

The French Quarter was great fun to explore and, hands down, my favorite spots in this part of the city were the restaurants. We hit a few of the best-rated foodie spots and were not disappointed: I highly recommend all them. We kicked off our adventure with a cafe au lait, a crawfish omelette and beignets at none other than Cafe Beignet. The Palace Cafe served the most delicious frozen Bananas Foster cocktail, Brennan's was my favorite overall experience from start to finish, the turtle soup at Galatoire's was sublime, and Arnaud's served the most delicious baked oysters, as well as a memorable handmade crab filled pastry. I also recommend grabbing a shrimp Po' boy at Johnny's Po' Boy -- and don't forget your side of gumbo!
