Winter in Southampton

When people refer to "The Hamptons" more often than not they are speaking of their summertime weekends spent on the beach, attending parties, and fine dining with friends. One of my favorite times to be Out East, though, is off season -- even when it's cold it is still beautiful and there are, of course, no crowds. As a designer, I work on projects all year long and quite often drive out during the winter months to either check on progress at client homes or supervise installations. Although most everyone has closed up their homes, and the beaches & towns are quiet, it is so peaceful and serene, making it one of my favorite times of year to drive and explore. 

Southampton is one of my favorite towns in the Hamptons.  I love taking a drive down Gin Lane and Duck Pond Lane to see the beautiful Shingle style and Colonial revival mansions. The bushes are protected, security signs front & center, yet the charming architecture calls to me through the imposing gates..."photograph me".  See some of my favorite homes in Southampton below:
