The Happieset Houseplants
If you are looking for a way to add life to a space that needs a little love, then consider adopting one of these happy plants. In addition to adding something special to your home, many plants also have health benefits, such as purifying your air from common toxins like plastic resins, paint & varnishes (read more here). I have a majesty palm tree (see below) living in a beautiful blue & white pot near my desk and it immediately lifts my mood each morning when I begin working. English Ivy is another favorite of mine and always adds so much charm to a small table or bookcase.
My biggest tip when selecting a plant is to be realistic about your level of ability to care for it. Do you work late hours and want something that is impossible to kill, like a faux plant, or are you able to dedicate a little more time to nurturing something? Also, don't write off faux plants, as they have come a long way in the past few years and no longer look like something you'd see in a waiting room (here is a good source).
