Gender Neutral Nursery

Decorating a nursery can be overwhelming, as you most likely want everything to be just right for Baby. As a designer, I felt an obligation to make our nursery a cozy, dream-like space for our first child. I knew I didn’t want a “theme,” but knew I did want it to feature soft neutrals and incorporate both classic & modern elements.

After sharing the photos of my son’s nursery (more photos here) I have had several questions regarding where things are from, so I decided to share my favorite elements with you. I hope that this inspires you on your journey to create the perfect space for your baby.

I should also note that none of these selections were sponsored and are all my own personal preferences. You also don’t need any of these things to make a safe, inviting & happy nursery for your child - these are just items that were important to me.

1.) Paint Color on Walls & Trim

2.) Bassinet

We have this in our master bedroom since the baby will be sleeping with us in the same room for a few months. I looked FOREVER to find the perfect bassinet and finally found this Moses basket that I can move around the house easily and is safe for infant sleep. The rocking stand is sold separately and so is the quilted bedding, but I highly recommend ordering both.

4.) Bow-Tie Kilim Rug

Don’t forget a rug pad!

5.) Pehr Counting Sheep Mobile

Design tip: select a mobile arm in a finish that is as close to the color of your crib as possible - this is the one we selected

6.) Swivel Glider & Ottoman

I recommend ordering your upholstered furniture pieces in performance fabrics, if possible. They are much easier to care for and maintain with a little one.

7.) Clothing Baskets

I chose cloud patterned storage bins (pic below) for my son’s nursery baskets, which are now sold out.

The elephant pattern is equalIy cute and still available.
